Welcome to Bottle Brief!
This site is dedicated to wine, with a focus on the everday wines that are currently available to the world. We have established a few rules in our tasting, and hope to stick to these to provide a standard form of testing.
Each time we taste, the wine will be available at a supermarket near us, for under $20. This is what we feel will qualify a wine as being "everyday" and not a wine that you will have to stretch to far to find or to far to afford.
We will cover our tasting notes on the wine (appearance, nose, and taste) and will also cover what we feel the wine might go well with, and in what settings you might like to use this wine. At the end of the review, we will rate the wines using our scale, based on how much of this wine that we think the world should drink. The sizes are as follows:
Pony = Quarter Bottle -- Terrible wine, avoid at all costs
Half-Bottle
Bottle
Magnum = Two Bottles
Double Magnum = Four Bottles
Jeroboam = Six Bottles
Imperial = Eight Bottles
Salamanazar = Twelve Bottles
Balthazar = Fifteen Bottles
Nebuchadnezzar = Twenty Bottles
Barrel = Quite a bit -- Amazing wine, hoard this whenever you can!
The goal of this is to have fun with wine as much as possible, and spread our thoughts on the wine to you, the reader. We hope you enjoy it!
